About Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport (ALC)

Airport news:

A new terminal complex opened in 2011 and the previous two separate terminals closed. Plans are in place to reopen these two terminals at some point in the future, although no date has yet been set.

Driving directions:

From central Alicante, take the N-332 along the coast, before turning right onto the N-338. This road has a designated turn off for the airport.
From Benidorm, take the E-15 southwards, turn onto the eastbound A-70 and follow signs to the airport.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus: The C6 public bus service operated by Subús (www.movilidad.vectalia.es) runs every 20 minutes to and from Alicante central bus station (journey time: approximately 20 minutes; fare: €3.85). Other services run to Elche, Benidorm and Murcia. All buses depart from opposite the arrivals hall.

Taxi: Taxis are available in front of the arrivals hall at Alicante Airport (journey time to Alicante: 15-20 minutes; fare: from €20). Further taxi information (tel: +34 965 427 777) is available.

Terminal facilities

Money:

Currency exchange and ATMs are located within the terminal building, both before and after the security screening area.

Food:

There are several bars, cafés and restaurants at Alicante Airport, as well as a fast-food outlet and an ice cream parlour. The majority of places to eat are located on the second floor in the departures area.

Shopping:

There is a varied selection of shops at Alicante Airport; these include newsagents, tobacconists, a delicatessen, clothes boutiques, gift shops, a jewelry outlet and an electronics retailer. There are also three duty-free shops for passengers leaving the EU, all of which are post-security.

Luggage:

A lost property office (tel: +34 966 919 223) is situated on the ground floor. There is no left-luggage facility at Alicante Airport.

Other:

Other facilities at Alicante Airport include a 24-hour first aid service, a pharmacy, and a number of tour operator desks.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

A meeting room is available for hire on the terminal's ground floor, and there is a VIP lounge in the boarding area offering Internet access and refreshments. More extensive meeting and conference facilities are available in the region's hotels – the nearest such facilities are at the Hotel Areca (tel: +34 965 685 477;www.hotelareca.es), located about 2km (1.6 miles) from the airport.

Communication Facilities:

Paid-for Wi-Fi access (the first 15 minutes of which is free of charge) is provided, and there are also internet kiosks equipped with mobile phone chargers at various locations within the main building.

Disabled facilities:

There is a designated area outside the terminal building for dropping-off disabled passengers. There are also reserved parking spaces for disabled passengers in the airport car park opposite the terminal building. In and around the terminal, there are lifts, ramps and disabled toilets. Wheelchairs are available on request and it is advised to pre-arrange the provision and collection of a wheelchair before arriving at the airport. Passengers requiring special assistance should inform their airline before travelling.

Car parking:

Parking is available in two car parks with a total capacity of 3,000 spaces. One car park is located opposite the terminal building and the other is adjacent; long- and short-term parking rates are available in both areas.

Car rental:

Car hire is available from a range of companies including: Avis, Centauro, Enterprise, Europcar, Goldcar Rental, Hertz, Record Go and Sixt. Desks for these operators can be found on the ground floor, in the public area.
