Travelling to the Channel Islands
The Common Travel Area (CTA) is a long-standing arrangement among the UK, the Crown Dependencies (Bailiwick of Jersey, Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Isle of Man) and the Republic of Ireland. Under this agreement, citizens in the UK and Republic of Ireland can travel to Jersey and Guernsey without a passport, but you should have a photo ID or evidence of your UK immigration permissions.
If you travel from outside the UK to the Channel Islands, then you must show a valid passport. All EU, EEA and Swiss nationals must show a valid passport or identity card on arrival in Jersey or Guernsey. Citizens from other countries must show a valid passport on arrival.
