Schonbrunn Palace Easter Market

With the incredible Baroque architecture of Schonbrunn Palace in the background, this has to be one of the prettiest settings for a market anywhere in the world. It is also a great place to soak up the atmosphere and learn more about Austrian Easter traditions and customs as shoppers browse the main stalls selling everything from Easter eggs to handmade gifts and souvenirs. There are also numerous drinks and food stalls selling regional and national specialities.

Wiener Festwochen (Vienna Festival)

Donauinselfest (Danube Island Festival)

Europe's largest open-air events, the Danube Island Festival, can be experienced between the Nordsteg and Reichsbrücke bridges and on several stages. There is also a big fireworks display.

Music Film Festival

The programmes cover a multitude of genres from opera, through ballet to musicals. The relaxed atmosphere of this event attracts large crowds to the screenings.

Viennale
